About the Role
We are looking for a senior lawyer to join our legal team and take a leading role in negotiating strategic commercial transactions with financial institutions across multiple jurisdictions.
The role is focused primarily on drafting and negotiating complex long-term JV and licensing agreements with banks.
In addition, you will also support venture capital and investment transactions, corporate structure of the group across the jurisdictions and international expansion.
This role is particularly well suited to a lawyer currently working at a top-tier law firm or in-house with strong international practice who is looking to remain engaged in high-quality legal work while gaining direct exposure to decision-making in a fast-growing global fintech.
Beyond technical legal work, the role includes mentoring and developing junior and mid-level lawyers within the team, helping shape legal approaches to complex transactions and strengthening the team’s overall capabilities.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Transactions (Primary Focus)
Lead drafting and negotiation of complex commercial agreements with partner banks and financial institutions
Advise the business on risk allocation, liability set-up and remedies in strategic partnerships
Coordinate with internal stakeholders like management, finance, tech teams to align the company’s position internally
Lead negotiations with counterparties under English law or local law contractual frameworks
Cross-Border Projects
Support the company’s international expansion into the new markets
Coordinate with external counsel across jurisdictions to ensure legally robust contractual structures
Support existing corporate structure of the group across jurisdictions
Venture Capital & Investment Transactions (Secondary Focus)
Support venture capital and equity investment transactions
Assist with transaction structuring, negotiation of investment documentation, due diligence, and coordination with external counsel, if any
Team Leadership & Development
Provide guidance, mentorship, and development support to junior and mid-level lawyers in the team
Review and supervise legal workstreams to ensure quality and consistency
Contribute to the development of internal legal standards, negotiation strategies, and best practices
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Qualifications
5-9 years of legal experience at a top-tier law firm or international technology company, preferably with a background in M&A, private equity & VC, banking/ finance transactions or complex SaaS & IP licensing matters
Strong experience in negotiating complex agreements, ideally in technology, fintech, or financial services
Experience working on cross-border transactions or international projects
Experience negotiating contracts governed by English law
Ukrainian-qualified lawyer with strong command of English legal concepts OR Ukrainian-speaking solicitor qualified in England and Wales
Skills & Mindset
Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to lead complex contractual discussions
Strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking
Ability to clearly present and defend legal positions in negotiations
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Interest in mentoring and developing junior lawyers
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
Upper-Intermediate/ Advanced English skills, both writing and speaking
