About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Internal Controls & Fraud Risk Manager to establish and strengthen the internal control framework across our banking operations. This role sits at the intersection of Internal Controls, Fraud Risk Management, Information Security, and Operational Risk.
You will be responsible for identifying vulnerabilities, implementing control mechanisms, monitoring employee-related risks, investigating incidents, and working closely with banking partners, information security teams, auditors, and regulators to ensure a robust control environment.

Key Responsibilities


  • Build and continuously enhance the bank's internal control framework, processes, and monitoring mechanisms.

  • Identify vulnerabilities and control gaps across banking systems, operational processes, and products.

  • Design, maintain, and improve control matrices, monitoring rules, and risk indicators.

  • Analyze and correlate events across systems to identify suspicious activity and employee-related risk patterns.

  • Develop and maintain automated risk detection and alerting mechanisms.

  • Investigate suspicious activities, internal fraud cases, and control breaches.

  • Prepare investigation reports, incident documentation, and remediation recommendations.

  • Monitor and control employee access rights, ensuring proper segregation of duties and least-privilege principles.

  • Review and approve internal control procedures, monitoring processes, and risk management practices.

  • Collaborate closely with the Bank's Information Security team on security controls, investigations, and risk mitigation initiatives.

  • Participate in the approval and review of security controls, including access management, password management standards, administrative panel protection, and rate-limiting controls.

  • Act as a key point of contact for Internal Audit and support audit activities and reviews.

  • Prepare logs, evidence packages, case documentation, and risk analyses for requests from banking partners, auditors, regulators, and Central Bank authorities.

  • Monitor control effectiveness and recommend improvements to strengthen the overall control environment.

  • Promote a culture of risk awareness, accountability, and operational excellence throughout the organization.

Requirements

Education & Experience


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Information Security, Audit, Risk Management, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in Internal Controls, Compliance, Fraud Prevention, Information Security, Audit, or Risk Management.

  • Experience within banking, fintech, financial services, or regulated environments is strongly preferred.

Technical Skills


  • Strong understanding of internal control frameworks and risk management processes within banking or financial institutions.

  • Experience designing and maintaining control matrices and monitoring frameworks.

  • Ability to identify process weaknesses and implement effective risk mitigation measures.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to detect suspicious patterns and correlate events across multiple systems.

  • Experience working with logs, databases, and analytical tools.

  • Proficiency in SQL and data analysis.

  • Understanding of access management, privileged access controls, administrative panel security, password management practices, and rate-limiting mechanisms.

  • Familiarity with incident investigation and reporting processes.

Domain Knowledge


  • Solid understanding of internal fraud schemes, employee misconduct risks, and fraud prevention methodologies.

  • Basic understanding of information security principles and controls.

  • Knowledge of operational risk management practices and governance frameworks.

  • Experience interacting with auditors, regulators, or Central Bank representatives is considered a strong advantage.
